Cookie notice
This page describes the storage used on the Cortex Compass website, which publishes the Paju reading room’s study of Solana decentralized finance basics. The privacy details are in the privacy notice.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small record a site asks your browser to keep and send back later. Similar records can sit in localStorage, which stays on your device and is not automatically sent with every request. Both are used to remember a preference or to measure visits. Cortex Compass uses localStorage for the consent choice described below.
Types we use
Essential storage remembers whether you chose Accept or Reject, so the banner does not return on every page. The site can be read, and the inquiry form can be sent, without that record. If storage is blocked, the banner may appear again, and the pages still open.
Analytics and advertising: choosing Reject means no analytics cookie is set. Choosing Accept records that optional measurement would be allowed. The pages do not load a third-party advertising profile either way, and they do not currently set a separate measurement cookie beyond the consent record.
Storage table
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| cortexcompass-cookie-consent | Remembers Accept or Reject so the banner stays dismissed | Until you clear site data for cortexcompass.click | Cortex Compass, in localStorage on your browser |
| Google Fonts requests | Loads the typefaces used for headings and body text. Google may set or read its own cookies as part of that request | Controlled by Google and by your browser |
Third-party cookies
The typefaces come from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Loading them can send your IP address to Google. Cortex Compass does not embed advertising pixels, social plugins, or a payment frame.
How to manage or disable storage
Use Reject on the banner to record that optional measurement is declined. To remove the choice, clear site data for cortexcompass.click in your browser settings, or delete the localStorage entry cortexcompass-cookie-consent. Browser help pages explain how to block third-party cookies and how to block requests to Google Fonts. Rejecting on our banner does not by itself stop the font request; a browser block or an extension does.
Impact of disabling
Rejecting the banner, or blocking storage, does not close any page, does not disable the inquiry form, and does not change a booking. The banner can show again if the consent record is missing. Blocking Google Fonts changes the typeface to your browser’s fallback and leaves the words intact.
