Refunds and cancellations

These rules apply to study bookings at the Cortex Compass reading room: the Foundations Circle, desk appointments, reading room passes, and club briefings on Solana decentralized finance basics. They are effective 1 September 2026.

How a refund is paid

Approved amounts return to the bank account that sent the original transfer. Processing takes up to 10 business days after we confirm the refund in writing.

Foundations Circle

The fee is 480,000 KRW for six Tuesdays and the printed primer. Cancel 14 or more days before session 1 for a full refund. If the primer set was already printed, 80,000 KRW for that set is kept and the rest is returned.

Cancel inside 13 days of session 1, or after session 1 and before session 3 starts, and half the fee is returned. A primer already handed to the reader stays with the reader and is a non-refundable material.

Once session 3 has started, the teaching is underway and the fee is kept. A reader who misses one week may sit that same week in a later circle within three months, when a seat for that week is open, without a second fee. A no-show is recorded after 20 minutes, the chair may be offered to someone on the wait list for that evening, and the package fee stands.

Desk appointment

Cancel or move the hour with at least 48 hours’ notice for a full refund or one new slot. A later cancellation or a no-show keeps the 90,000 KRW fee. If the facilitator cancels, you choose a full refund or another open slot.

Reading room pass

Cancel before the first open day of the pass, with no visit made, for a full refund. After you have visited, or after that first open day has passed, the pass fee is kept.

Club briefing

A 200,000 KRW amount holds the date and is credited to the quoted fee. Cancel 8 or more days before the briefing and amounts already paid are returned, except printing cost if glossary sets were already printed. That cost is the figure named in the quote.

Cancel inside 7 days and the 200,000 KRW holding amount is kept. If the rest of the fee was already paid, half of that remainder is returned. Printed sets stay with the group. One date change is available with 8 or more days’ notice and does not require a new holding amount. If Cortex Compass cancels, every amount paid for that briefing is returned.

Work already started and materials

Primers and glossary sets already printed or handed over are non-refundable materials. Circle fees after session 3, desk fees after the 48-hour point, pass fees after a visit, and briefing fees inside the 7-day window follow the sections above because preparation or teaching has started.

Public holidays

If a circle Tuesday falls on a Korean public holiday, including Seollal or Chuseok, that week moves to a date staff name in writing. The fee is unchanged. A reader who cannot attend the moved date may use the missed-week rule.

Deposits

Circles, desk appointments, and passes have no separate deposit; the fee itself holds the booking. The only holding amount is the 200,000 KRW line on a club briefing, credited to the quoted fee.
